Turtlehead Snaps at Warren

(Washington, DC — February 8, 2017) – The Party of Misogyny was on full display today as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) dressed down Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) for speaking the truth about Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL), a racist piece of slime who’s in line to become the nation’s next attorney general.

Turtlehead essentially told Warren to “sit down and shut up” while she was making a speech on the Senate floor. Turtlehead claimed she had impugned Sessions’ character, partly because she read into the record past statements about Sessions from the late Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) and the late Coretta Scott King, widow of slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. Their statements were drawn from Senate hearings in 1986 when Sessions was in the running to be a federal judge.

He was not confirmed by the Senate.

“The Senate was impugned the day it selected a reptile as its leader,” said a political strategist, speaking on condition of anonymity. “And I think it’s funny to see Turtlehead talk about insulting the political establishment while this racist, bulgy-eyed [explicative] spent eight years delegitimizing Barack Obama (D-IL) as President of the United States.”

Part of Kennedy’s statement read by Warren:

“He is, I believe, a disgrace to the Justice Department and he should withdraw his nomination and resign his position.”

And part of King’s statement read by Warren:

“Mr. Sessions has used the awesome power of his office to chill the free exercise of the vote by black citizens.”

The Senate voted along party lines, 49-43, to rebuke Warren under Rule 19 of the Senate . Once the vote was over, Warren was ordered to sit down and forbidden from speaking during the remainder of the debate on the nomination of Sessions.

She did manage to get a few more words in before finally sitting for the rest of the hearings.

In explaining his rationale for the rare rebuke, Turtlehead made a statement that reinforced the Republican Party as the Party of Misogyny:

“Senator Warren was giving a lengthy speech. She had appeared to violate the rule. She was warned. She was given an explanation. Nevertheless, she persisted.”

“Probably the worst thing Turtlehead could have said,” said a political scientist, speaking on condition of anonymity. “Now you’ll hear ‘Nevertheless, she persisted’ being used as a battle cry for every sane person who’s stunned at the Senate confirming inexperienced billionaires to serve in a Trump (R-NY) Cabinet – not to mention every sane person who’s stunned at the illegitimate POTUS we’re enduring.

“It’s a ‘YUUUGE!!!’ miscalculation on Turtlehead’s part. I haven’t seen anything this awful since the Bowling Green Massacre!”

Many are not impressed either by Turtlehead’s explanation or the Rule 19 violation being turned into a national calamity.

“Turtlehead and 53 of his minions violated the Constitution and held up the Supreme Court nomination of Merrick Garland for almost a year,” said a Congressional insider, speaking on condition of anonymity. “That’s an impeachable offense, and the #ImpeachThe54 Twitter Resource movement hasn’t gone away.

“So if you’re comparing a violation of Rule 19 of the Senate to a violation of the Constitution of the United States, I’d say the latter is way more egregious. And I’d also tell that cold-blooded reptilian piece of shit to shut his mouth.”
